Cultivation methods and precautions of Pansy

Cultivation methods and precautions of Pansy

1. Lighting

It likes light, and during the breeding period, it should be placed in a place with sufficient scattered light and allowed to get as much sun as possible, but be careful to block or avoid it in time during the hot sun in summer and avoid exposure to the sun. If there is a lack of light, the number of flowers will decrease and the flowering time will be shortened.

2. Temperature

It has a certain degree of cold resistance and can be placed outdoors over the winter in the Yangtze River Basin and areas to its south. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 10-15 degrees. It is not resistant to high temperatures. Once the temperature exceeds 20 degrees, the branches will elongate, and if it exceeds 30 degrees, its growth will be hindered. Therefore, in high temperature environments, you must pay attention to more ventilation to cool down.

3. Fertilizer and water

Fertilize frequently during the breeding period, especially during the peak growing season, and apply thin liquid fertilizer once every month to promote better flowering and growth. After the flowers bloom, stop applying fertilizer and reduce watering, only once every three to five days. Just keep it slightly moist during the growing season.

4. Soil

When breeding, use soil with good drainage properties. It is best to ensure that it is loose, breathable and fertile. Such a soil environment allows the roots to breathe better and absorb the necessary nutrients, which is conducive to growth. You can use peat soil and perlite and add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer. Remember to disinfect before use.

5. Notes

If the environment provided during management is not suitable, the plants are prone to downy mildew and red spider mites. Once discovered, they must be treated as soon as possible. You can spray pesticides and change the maintenance environment.
