Broccoli germination method Seed germination method and steps

Germination is generally carried out in a constant temperature environment, so the germinated seedlings can avoid damage from low temperatures. The germinated broccoli seeds will grow stronger after planting and have a certain degree of disease resistance.

At the same time, germination advances the germination time of seeds, so they can be harvested earlier. Generally, broccoli grown after germination matures earlier than those grown without germination, so they can be put on the market earlier and sold at a good price.

Broccoli germination time

The time for cultivating broccoli in autumn is generally early July, the time for cultivating it in a solar greenhouse in winter is late July to August, and the time for cultivating it in a solar greenhouse in early spring is generally early September to early October. The germination time can be chosen to be one week before planting. It is generally faster to soak the seeds for a few hours before germination.

Broccoli Seed Soaking and Germination Method

First, soak the broccoli seeds in warm water for about 20 minutes. Stir them constantly while soaking until the water temperature drops to about 20℃, then stop stirring and continue soaking in water for about 4 hours before taking them out.

Then, rinse the seeds, wrap them in damp cotton gauze, put them in a container and try to control the temperature at 20-30℃. Then you only need to wash the seeds every day until the seeds turn white. Only then can they be successfully germinated and can be sown.
