How many times can greenhouse watermelons be planted in a year?

How many seasons of greenhouse watermelon are planted in a year?

Greenhouse watermelons can be planted three times a year . The sowing and seedling raising are from the end of December to the early January of the following year. This is the first planting in early spring. The second crop of watermelons can be planted half a month before the first crop of watermelons is harvested. The next batch of watermelons can be sown and seedling raised in early May. The delayed autumn watermelons are sown and seedled in early July. This is the third crop of watermelons.

Greenhouse watermelon planting conditions

Watermelon likes high temperature and strong light. It will grow well in such an environment and the yield will increase. Generally speaking, the temperature in the greenhouse will be affected to some extent by the outside world.

If the outdoor temperature is high, the temperature inside the shed will also rise accordingly. If the temperature inside the shed drops, the overall temperature will be slightly higher than the outside temperature. Therefore, if the temperature difference between day and night is large, the temperature during the day will be higher than the outdoor temperature, and the temperature at night will drop accordingly. Therefore, windows must be opened during the day for ventilation and cooling, and protective layers can be covered at night to increase the outdoor temperature.

Greenhouse watermelon harvest time

The cultivation of greenhouse watermelons generally takes about 80-120 days from sowing to harvesting, and about 30-40 days from flowering to maturity. Since greenhouse-grown watermelons can be planted and harvested three times a year, they can be put on the market around May of the first harvest.
