How to care for Jade Plant in winter

How to care for Jade Plant in winter

1. Maintain temperature

If the Jade Plant is not properly kept warm in winter, it may suffer from frostbite, which will affect its appearance and may even directly lead to death. In winter when the temperature is low, it is necessary to move it indoors in time and keep the temperature no lower than 10 degrees. If there is heating indoors, you can keep it on the balcony, but be careful not to place it near the window at night, otherwise it may be affected by cold wind.

2. Supplement sunlight

The growth of Jade Plant itself cannot be separated from sunlight. In winter, the light intensity decreases, and this is a good time to supplement sunlight. It can be kept in a sunny place indoors, maintaining at least 4 hours of light a day, which can promote plant growth.

3. Reduce watering

The growth rate slows down significantly in winter, unlike the growing season, and the water requirement is also reduced, so you must pay attention to watering and try to reduce watering as much as possible. As long as the soil is not too dry, keep it in a relatively dry state. Its roots are fleshy and cannot tolerate waterlogging. In winter, the evaporation is slow, so the amount of water must be controlled to avoid waterlogging.

4. Suspend fertilization

The growth rate slows down in winter. Fertilizer can be applied once before winter, and no fertilizer is required in winter.

5. Proper pruning

The temperature is low in winter, and pruning at this time will cause less damage to the plants, so you can prune appropriately and cut off the messy branches.
