How many crops of lettuce are planted in a year

Lettuce can be planted in four seasons a year , but different lettuce varieties need to be selected for different planting times. For example, when planting lettuce in winter and spring, you need to choose more cold-resistant lettuce varieties. When planting lettuce in summer and autumn, you need to choose heat-resistant and early-maturing lettuce varieties.

Lettuce growing conditions

Lettuce has strong cold resistance. The temperature suitable for lettuce growth is 16-19 degrees, and the lowest growth temperature cannot be lower than 4 degrees. However, when the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, it will delay the germination time of lettuce seeds, and even make it difficult to germinate.

After germination, the daytime temperature should be maintained at around 18 degrees, and the nighttime temperature should be maintained at 13-15 degrees. Different varieties have different temperature requirements.

Lettuce has a high demand for light because it is a long-day crop. Therefore, under conditions of sufficient light, lettuce has a stronger growth ability and a faster growth rate, which is conducive to improving yield and quality.

Lettuce harvest time

It takes 100 days for lettuce to mature and be harvested. The germination period takes 8-10 days, the entire seedling period takes more than 30 days, the rosette period takes 20-30 days, and the fleshy stem formation period takes about 30 days. Lettuce is planted in September and October and can be harvested in April and May of the following year.
