How to prolong the flowering period of peach blossoms

How to prolong the flowering period of peach blossoms

1. Temperature

Peach blossoms can adapt to a wide range of temperatures. They bloom in March and the entire flowering period is from March to April, so it is sufficient to keep the ambient temperature between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius, which is more in line with the spring climate and is more conducive to the continued opening of flowers.

2. Lighting

It is a flower that loves light very much. When cultivating it, you must choose a place without shelter and not keep it in a cold place. This way it can receive enough light every day to facilitate photosynthesis of the leaves to produce nutrients and provide sufficient nutrients for subsequent flowering. The light time should be guaranteed to be about twelve hours a day.

3. Watering

It prefers a dry environment and is drought-resistant, but has poor tolerance to waterlogging. If there is too much rain or the soil is too moist for a long time, it will cause the branches to grow too long and hinder the formation of flower buds, not to mention prolonging the flowering period. When watering every day, you should follow the principle of not watering unless the soil is dry. The amount of water should also be strictly controlled, and it is best to keep the soil half-moist.

4. Soil

It has a strong ability to accept soil and can accept soil of general properties, with neutral and slightly acidic soil being preferred. It is not tolerant to alkaline soil, and when the soil pH is lower than 4 or higher than 8, its growth will be seriously affected. In terms of soil texture, it is not suitable for survival in loam that is too sticky. It should be cultivated in sandy light loam that is well-drained, permeable and relatively fertile.
