How to plant ginger? Introduction to ginger planting methods and cultivation techniques

Ginger is a common condiment in daily life. It can be used in cooking and stewing soup, so the demand is very large. It is widely planted in the north and south. Usually, we select good quality ginger and plant it in warm seasons so that it can grow quickly.

Ginger Planting Method

1. Planting requirements

Ginger prefers a warm and humid environment and loose and fertile soil. It is usually planted from the end of April to the beginning of May each year. It has poor cold resistance and the optimal growth temperature is 25℃.

2. Seed selection

When planting ginger, you should choose suitable varieties according to the local environment and climate. Before planting, you should pick out the moldy, rotten, etc. ginger seeds. Larger pieces of ginger can be cut into small pieces with a knife, and the wounds should be disinfected with lime.

3. Planting

Before sowing, the ginger seeds need to be germinated. Soak them in Bordeaux liquid for 10 minutes, then place them in a pot with sand, cover them with plastic wrap after watering, and they will germinate and grow after ten days. After germination, plant the ginger pieces directly in the soil, apply decomposed organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer, and fertilize them in conjunction with watering, and water the soil thoroughly.

Ginger planting points

1. After sowing ginger, the most important thing to pay attention to is the water and fertilizer problem during its growth process. As ginger continues to grow, the demand for minerals increases. During this period, a large amount of fertilizer needs to be applied to supplement nutrition. It is recommended that you apply topdressing in stages.

2. In addition to fertilizing, special attention should be paid to watering ginger. It is best to do it in the evening and water it thoroughly. Ginger likes a moist growing environment, and the soil should be kept moist without lack of water. When the ginger is growing vigorously, water it every 5 days, and before harvest, water it again every 3 days.
