Panax notoginseng planting time and key points

1. Planting time

Panax notoginseng is suitable for planting in winter and spring. We can usually sow it in November to December in winter, or in March to April in spring. If sown in these two time periods, the survival rate of Panax notoginseng seeds will be the highest.

2. Seed treatment

Choose plump, healthy, high-quality seeds and soak them in 1000:1 diluted carbendazim for disinfection. This can reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests. Prepare deep, loose, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Sow the Panax notoginseng seeds into the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil to promote germination.

3. Seeding management

After sowing the seeds of Panax notoginseng, they should be kept in a well-ventilated place with scattered light. They should be watered every 5 to 7 days and organic fertilizer should be applied every 20 days or so. The ambient temperature should be around 15 degrees. After waiting for 30 to 60 days, the Panax notoginseng will take root and can be moved to a sunny place. In the later stage, pests and diseases should be prevented and weeds should be removed in time.
