How to grow Guanyin bamboo in water to make it more vigorous

Guanyin bamboo has an elegant posture and emerald green color, and has a high ornamental value. It is often used as a hedge and bonsai. It can be grown in water or in soil. Pay attention to fertilizing in time during the hydroponic period, keep the water clean, and provide sufficient light and a warm environment so that it can grow vigorously.

Key points for hydroponic cultivation of Guanyin bamboo

1. Fertilization

When growing Guanyin bamboo, it is necessary to fertilize it frequently. The frequency of fertilization varies according to the season. In spring and autumn, the frequency is about once every 4-5 days. In summer, which is the growing season, the frequency of fertilization should be increased to about once every 1-2 days. In winter, the frequency of fertilization should be reduced to about once every 7 days.

2. Moisture

During the hydroponic culture of Guanyin bamboo, pure water should be used as the hydroponic medium. The pure water should be sterilized under the sun before hydroponics. The water temperature should be similar to the ambient temperature, neither too cold nor too hot.

3. Lighting

Guanyin bamboo likes light and can be grown in the sun. Providing sufficient light can promote its photosynthesis. However, when the sun is too strong in the summer, avoid direct sunlight and provide appropriate shade. In winter, it can be maintained in full sun.

4. Temperature

Hydroponic Guanyin bamboo is not cold-resistant and requires an environmental temperature of 15-30 degrees Celsius for growth. When the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius in winter, warming measures should be taken and it should be moved indoors for cultivation.

Precautions for hydroponic cultivation of Guanyin bamboo

The root system of Guanyin Bamboo is well developed. In order to increase its ornamental value during hydroponics, the roots should be properly pruned. The overly long parts can be cut off to reduce nutrient consumption. If rotten parts are found, they should be taken out and cut off immediately to avoid affecting the later growth of Guanyin Bamboo.
