Fennel seed germination method Fennel needs germination when grown at home

Germination is a must before planting fennel, because it can speed up the emergence of fennel seedlings and effectively increase the germination rate of seeds. However, the correct method must be used for germination.

Fennel seed germination time

Fennel seeds can usually germinate in 8-10 days. If you want it to germinate as scheduled, you need to pay attention to the time and method of germination. Generally speaking, the best time for germination is around April each year, when the temperature is most suitable.

Fennel seed germination technology

1. Choose the right seeds

Before germinating fennel seeds, it is best to select the seeds and choose those plump, healthy, harmless, and full-sized plant seeds for germination. This can effectively increase the germination rate of the seeds.

2. Warm water germination

Before sowing fennel, you can soak it in 40℃ warm water for about 20 hours to allow the seeds to fully absorb water, then gently rub it, and finally take out the seeds and put them in a container, cover them with a layer of wet cloth, and place them in an environment of 20-25℃ for germination. This will promote the seeds to germinate as soon as possible.

3. Germination in germination box

If you have the conditions at home, you can also use a germination box to germinate fennel seeds. Just adjust the temperature to a suitable temperature. The operation is very simple.
