Method for rapid rooting of large-leafed green radish cuttings Method and precautions for large-leafed green radish cuttings

The time for cuttings of large-leafed green radish can be selected in spring, summer and autumn. The climate at this time is suitable, which is conducive to the rooting of cuttings. In spring, it can be selected around March-April, and in summer and autumn, it can be selected from May to July. Cuttings can ensure a good survival rate.

1. Prepare the cuttings

Select the most vigorous and healthiest mother plant, choose the sturdy branches from it and cut them off. Cut the branches into small cuttings of about 15 cm. Then trim the leaves on the branches neatly, leaving 2-4 leaves on each branch. This can reduce water evaporation.

2. Prepare the medium

The large-leafed green ivy has relatively high requirements for soil. It generally prefers breathable, loose and well-permeable soil. We can choose sandy soil, or mix peat soil and coarse sand in a ratio of 3:5, or it is best to use vermiculite, so that it can take root quickly, and then put it in an ordinary clay pot.

3. Take cuttings

Plant the lower end of the prepared, dry cuttings into the potting soil. If conditions permit at home, you can also prepare some rooting powder and apply some on the lower end of the cuttings to allow them to take root more smoothly. Just bury about half of the cuttings in the soil, and then water them thoroughly.

4. Maintenance and management

If you want the large-leafed green radish to take root faster after cuttings, you need to provide a suitable maintenance environment. You can move it to a semi-shaded, well-ventilated place, maintain air circulation, and water it in time to keep the soil moist. This way, it will take root quickly. After it takes root, move it to a place with bright light for maintenance.
