The best time to repot yew and the methods and precautions for repotting

The right time to repot yew

The yew tree can be repotted all year round, but it is best to do it in January-April. Of course, it is also possible in October-December. The yew tree has a very developed root system and needs sufficient nutrients during its growth. It is recommended to apply a small amount of fertilizer. After repotting the yew tree, water it according to the moisture of the soil. This will make the yew tree grow more vigorously.

Preparations for repotting yew

Before repotting the yew, you should choose a larger pot. If the pot is too small, it will affect the growth of the yew. When repotting, do not put the original soil into the new pot. It must be removed cleanly, which may inhibit the growth of the yew roots. It is recommended to choose slightly acidic soil with a pH value of about 5.5--65 for planting.

Methods and key points of repotting yew

1. Remove the pot

After choosing a flower pot, you can take the yew out of the old pot, trim the roots of the yew, and cut off all the rotten and yellowed roots, which will be conducive to better growth of the orchid.

2. Repot

In the prepared pot, add some gravel as a drainage layer, then fill it with loose and breathable soil, then put the yew into the soil, and cover it with the remaining new soil so that its roots are all under the soil. Then water it thoroughly once and it will survive.
