Chaihu planting method and time, which month is the best for planting

Suitable planting time for Bupleurum

The planting time of Bupleurum is winter and spring, but it is best to do it in winter. After the winter dormancy period, some unqualified seeds will be eliminated, and replanting can be done in spring depending on the situation, which can effectively increase the yield.

Bupleurum planting methods and key points

1. Land preparation: Bupleurum is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil. The soil should not be sticky or too moist. The terrain needs to have a certain slope. Before sowing, the soil should be deeply plowed and the weeds should be removed, and then some farmyard manure compost should be added.

2. Process the seeds: Soak the seeds completely in warm water for 2 hours. After 3 hours, part of the seeds need to be exposed to the water surface. Turn them over every hour, 3 to 4 times. The total soaking time should not exceed 6 hours. The ambient temperature should be 40 degrees. Finally, bury them in the soil to germinate.

3. Sowing: Water the ridges sufficiently, with the distance between each row being 15-18 cm and the depth of the furrow being 1.5 cm. Then spread the seeds evenly in the furrows and cover them with a layer of fine soil with a thickness of 1 cm. The seedlings will emerge in about 10 days after sowing.

Points to note in daily management of Bupleurum

1. Water: Bupleurum likes a humid environment, but cannot tolerate stagnant water. Therefore, before the rainy season comes, the furrows should be cleaned in time to ensure good drainage and reduce the occurrence of field diseases, so that the plants can grow healthily.

2. Fertilization: When planting Bupleurum, apply some base fertilizer and place it evenly around the hole. Then apply top dressing three times, depending on the specific situation, generally when buds appear, flowering, and one month before harvest.

3. Light: When Bupleurum seedlings are young, they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. They must be shaded and provided with sufficient light during the vigorous growth period. A sunny environment will be more conducive to its growth. Generally, as long as the maintenance environment is not shaded, it can grow well.
