What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum comosum turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum comosum turn yellow

1. Supplement nutrients

Reason: Chlorophytum comosum cannot grow well relying solely on nutrients in the soil and is prone to malnutrition, which can cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Supplement it with appropriate nutrients in time. The supplemented nutrients should contain the three elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These substances are very helpful for the growth of the plant and can make the leaves big and bright.

2. Reasonable watering

Reason: When watering, if you water too much, it will easily cause water accumulation in the potting soil, leading to root rot; if you water too little, the plant will dry up. These two incorrect watering methods will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: When the temperature is high, water it once a day and spray water mist on its leaves in the morning and evening; when the temperature is low, water it three or four times a week. When watering, make sure the soil is thoroughly watered, but there should be no standing water.

3. Reasonable lighting

Reason: Although spider plants prefer semi-shady environments, they also need light. If the light is not enough, its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Expose it to diffuse light every day, and provide it with appropriate shade when the sun is strong.

4. Reasonable fertilization

Reason: When fertilizing spider plants, you must pay attention to the method and approach. Applying too much or too little fertilizer will cause its leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Fertilize once a week during the growing season and twice a month during the dormant season. When applying fertilizer, do not get too close to the roots, keep a few centimeters away to avoid burning the roots.
