Material

Before doing leaf cuttings of Kalanchoe, you first need to prepare suitable materials.

A healthy Kalanchoe plant.

A clean coarse sand or peat soil.

A flowerpot, not too small.

When doing leaf cuttings of Kalanchoe, it is necessary to do it when the temperature is between 20℃ and 25℃. This can prevent the leaves from freezing and increase the survival rate of the leaf cuttings.

1. Select a relatively large, healthy and harmless leaf and remove it, making sure the petiole remains intact.

2. Dry the leaves in the sun to allow the wound to dry before doing leaf cuttings.

3. Put coarse sand into the flowerpot, and then insert the dried leaves into the soil. Be careful not to bury them too deep. The petiole should be inserted into the soil, but the leaves should be exposed.

4. Place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

5. Keep the soil moist. When the soil becomes dry, just water it lightly. After careful care, the Kalanchoe will sprout. Be patient and wait.

Notes on leaf cuttings

It takes a long time to grow Kalanchoe leaf cuttings. Basically, it takes about 6 months for it to germinate, so patience is required.

While waiting for germination, the soil should not be too moist, and watering should not be too much or too frequent.
