Spinach sowing time and method

1. Planting time: Spinach can be planted all year round. It can be sown in spring when the temperature is above 5℃. It is usually sown in March, in summer from May to July, in autumn from August to September, and in October to November for overwintering spinach.

2. Fine-tune the land: Choose a location with loose, fertile soil and good drainage. Apply 4,000 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer per mu of land, add 40 kg of superphosphate, mix the soil and fertilizer, and fine-tune the land to make field ridges.

3. Seedling treatment: Soak the seeds in water about a week before sowing, take them out and clean them after 12 hours, place them in a 4℃ environment for 24 hours, and then place them in a 20-25℃ environment for germination. They can be sown after 3-5 days of germination.

4. Sowing method: Water the soil, then scatter the seeds and cover with fine soil. Use a small arch shed after sowing in summer and autumn, and put up a shade net to avoid direct sunlight. Sowing in winter needs to be covered with plastic film for heat preservation and cold resistance. The film can be lifted after the seedlings emerge.

How to manage spinach after it sprouts

1. Apply thin fertilizer

Spinach is a plant that likes fertilizer, so it is necessary to apply thin fertilizer after it sprouts. When it has 2-3 true leaves, you can apply several times of thin fertilizer water. If spinach lacks fertilizer, it may grow slowly. Be careful not to apply concentrated fertilizer to spinach to avoid fertilizer damage.

2. Moisture management

Spinach has a relatively high requirement for water, so it is necessary to water it after germination. In the dry season, the spinach should be watered in time to keep the soil slightly moist. In the rainy season, the spinach should be drained in time, otherwise excessive water will easily cause the spinach roots to rot.
