How to grow lily of the valley in spring

How to grow lily of the valley in spring

1. Increase watering

Lily of the valley is suitable for growing in relatively moist soil. If the plant's demand for water is not met, the plant is likely to grow poorly. Therefore, it needs to be watered more frequently in spring, generally every day. If the temperature is too high, you need to water the plants in the morning and evening. The watering time should avoid high temperature times. If you water the plants during high temperature times, the water will evaporate before the plants have time to absorb it, and the watering effect will not be achieved.

2. Increase fertilization

It likes fertilizer and has a relatively large demand for nutrients, but it cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizer. Therefore, when choosing fertilizers, try to choose fertilizers with mild effects. If you can use fertilizers such as farmyard manure and animal manure, it would be the best. If it is chemical fertilizer, it is best to dilute it before use, and the frequency of use should be twice a month.

3. Control temperature

It is a relatively delicate plant and has very strict requirements on temperature. Too high or too low temperature will affect its growth, and in severe cases the plant will be damaged. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 18 and 25 degrees. The temperature in early spring is unstable and spring cold often occurs. Therefore, it is not suitable for open-field maintenance before the climate stabilizes. Open-field maintenance can only be carried out after the climate stabilizes.

4. Increase Lighting

It is not a sun-loving plant, but sunlight is indispensable during its growth process. The amount of light needs to be slightly increased in spring. Generally, the amount of light in spring should not exceed 5 hours per day.
