Soybean planting and harvesting time

Soybean planting and harvesting time

Soybean planting time

The time of soybean planting is related to the climate of the planting area. Generally speaking, the best planting time is around June each year. The climate in different regions is different, and the planting time will be different. The planting time in the northern region is slightly earlier, generally starting in April and May, while in the south it starts in May and June.

Soybean harvest time

The sowing time of soybeans is different, and the harvesting time is also different. If it is sown around the Qingming Festival, the harvest period is September. If it is sown after the wheat harvest, it is generally harvested from late September to early October. It can be harvested when the stems and leaves of soybeans begin to turn yellow and the pods are dry and dark brown.

Key points for high-yield soybean planting

1. Land preparation

When planting soybeans, you need to choose soil with good irrigation and drainage and a deep soil layer. Before sowing, spread fertilizer evenly on the ground and deep plow into the soil for each acre of land. Specifically, it should include 1-2 tons of high-quality farmyard manure, 10-13 kg of phosphate fertilizer, 3 kg of potassium sulfate, and 1 kg of zinc fertilizer, and then prepare the land.

2. Planting

Before sowing soybeans, pick out plump, full, and pest-free seeds for planting, mix them with 0.1%-0.2% rhizobia, water the soil to maintain good humidity, and sow the seeds evenly in the soil at a sowing depth of about 5-10 cm. Maintain spacing and do not plant too densely.

3. Weeding

Weeding should be carried out 5-7 days before sowing after land preparation. The application of pesticides should be uniform, the flow rate should be accurate, and there should be no over-application or omission. If chemical weeding is not carried out before soybean sowing, chemical weeding can be carried out during the period from sowing to before seedlings emerge.

4. Foliar topdressing

During the flowering and pod stage of soybeans, appropriate topdressing can be carried out according to the specific situation of soybeans. If the growth is poor, foliar fertilization can be carried out. If the soybeans grow too luxuriantly during the flowering period and tend to lodging, dwarfing and stalk-strengthening agents such as paclobutrazol and chlormequat can be sprayed to promote dwarfing of soybeans and balanced growth.
