How to deal with hibiscus after it blooms

Hibiscus Flowering Post-Processing

1. Pruning

After hibiscus blooms, it is best to prune the branches appropriately, leaving only two or three nodes, so that more side buds can grow, and more flowers will bloom later.

2. Fertilization

After pruning, you need to apply fertilizer to the hibiscus. You can choose a multi-element mixed fertilizer to supplement the overall size of the plant. After ten days, apply fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers until flower buds grow again.

How to grow hibiscus flowers

As long as hibiscus is well maintained, it can bloom many times a year. The peak flowering period is from June to October each year. The overall flowering period is relatively long, but the life of a single flower is very short.

1. Loosen the soil

Hibiscus prefers loose, fertile and well-permeable soil. The nutrients of the plant mainly come from the soil. In home maintenance, garden soil, river sand, leaf mold, vermiculite and organic fertilizer can be used to prepare it.

2. Sufficient light

Hibiscus loves sunlight very much. If you want it to bloom successfully, light is essential. Only under sufficient light can it synthesize nutrients.

3. Water in time

Hibiscus likes water, so it is necessary to replenish water in time before flowering. It is best to keep the soil slightly moist, which is conducive to better flowering.
