Growth habits of Nostoc

Hair moss is generally grown in ethnic minority areas of my country. Because it can grow in relatively poor land, a lot of hair moss is planted in relatively arid areas such as Gansu and Shaanxi.

Nostoc is a special type of algae, most of which grows in areas with poor soil around the world. It is called Nostoc because it is dark in color and long and thin in shape, just like human hair.

Where does hair algae like to grow?

Nostoc is a wild plant unique to the plateau, produced in large quantities in arid and semi-arid areas of my country's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Gansu, Qinghai, Shaanxi and other provinces.

Hair moss generally grows in the northwestern region of my country, but because hair moss is very destructive, the economic benefits of planting it are not very high. It is not recommended to plant it as it causes great harm to the environment.

Nostoc growth environment and conditions

1. Water source problem: When planting hair algae, you need to spray it with water several times a day. Although it can be planted in arid areas, it does not mean that it requires less water. Therefore, hair algae needs to be grown close to a water source to facilitate frequent watering.

2. Sowing method: When planting hair algae, be careful not to plant them too densely, otherwise it will affect its living space. After planting, cover it with a layer of fine sand to prevent insects and increase its air permeability.
