When and how to plant walnut trees

When and how to plant walnut trees

Walnut tree planting time

When planting walnut trees, you must choose the right time. You can do it in spring from March to April, or in autumn from September to October. The temperature and humidity in these two stages are suitable. After planting, the seeds are easier to take root and germinate, which is also conducive to the germination of seedlings.

Walnut tree planting method

1. Get the seeds

Walnuts bloom and bear fruit around May every year, and the fruits will mature between August and September. You can get the seeds from the ripe fruits, remove the outer peel, place them in a cool, well-ventilated environment, and wait for them to dry before planting.

2. Preparation of matrix

If you want the walnut tree to grow faster, you need to choose a loose, breathable and fertile substrate. It is recommended to mix six parts of garden soil, three parts of sand and one part of decomposed organic fertilizer. After the mixture is ready, you can sow the seeds.

3. Planting seeds in the soil

After the substrate is prepared, it can be sown in the soil. Plant the walnut seeds directly into the soil. After planting, spray water appropriately to make the seeds and soil moist. The temperature must be well controlled, and the temperature must be kept at around 15 degrees. In addition, it should be exposed to more sunlight. If the environment is suitable, the germination speed will be fast and the seedlings can grow better.

Walnut tree planting precautions

During the growth period of the walnut tree, the soil must be kept moist and thin fertilizers must be applied frequently to meet its needs for water and nutrients. In addition, if you see weeds around, you must remove them in time and thoroughly. No grass should be left to avoid affecting the growth of the walnut tree.
