Cultivation methods and precautions of mosaic cassava

Cultivation methods and precautions of mosaic cassava

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: Mosaic cassava is not very demanding on soil, because sandy loam has good air permeability and drainage, and it will grow well in such soil.

2. Light management: Variegated cassava prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight, but can also tolerate a shady environment. However, when the temperature is high in summer, the cassava cannot be exposed to strong sunlight, as this will cause sunburn, which is not conducive to its growth.

3. Temperature management: It likes a warm environment. The most suitable temperature in spring, summer and autumn is 25-30℃, and the most suitable temperature from autumn to winter is 15-20℃.

4. Water management: Mosaic cassava can tolerate drought but does not like water. Excessive watering will cause waterlogging, which is not conducive to the growth of plants. It should be done after the soil becomes dry, and it is best not to add water when it is wet.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Wintering: Mosaic cassava cannot tolerate the cold winter. The temperature in winter should reach above 15 degrees Celsius so that it can survive the winter safely. The minimum temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees Celsius, otherwise you will freeze to death.

2. Repotting: Repotting can be done in spring every year. After planting new cassava, water cannot be replenished immediately. You should use a small watering can to spray water just to moisten the soil.
