When and how to plant grapevines

Grapevine planting time

Grape vines are suitable for planting in the spring every year, specifically between March and April. The temperature at this time is basically stable, and the grapes are also in the growing season. The survival rate is relatively high, and it will be much easier to manage in the later stage. In addition, attention should also be paid to the planting method, and the method must be appropriate.

Grapevine cultivation methods

1. Select seedlings

When planting grape seedlings, you must choose those with relatively developed and well-preserved root systems, so that they can survive better after planting and ensure later growth and fruiting. After selection, you must properly pruned them, retain more than three buds, remove the lateral roots, and disinfect them.

2. Planting

The method of planting grape trees is relatively simple. First, plant the grape seedlings into the soil, compact the soil around the seedlings, then water them once in time, cover them with plastic film, and control the humidity and temperature. Such an environment is conducive to growth.

3. Post-management

After the grape vines are planted, as long as a suitable growth environment is provided, they will sprout in about half a month. In July and August, when the plants are growing vigorously, it is necessary to add fertilizer in time. Fertilizers mainly composed of nitrogen can be selected to promote the growth of branches and leaves. After the plants are formed, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied in time.

Grapevine planting precautions

After planting the grape seedlings, observe their growth more frequently. If any of them are found to have not survived, clean them up and replant them in time. Also, pay attention to controlling the concentration of fertilizer when fertilizing, and water them in time to avoid fertilizer damage.
