Is it easy to grow asparagus fern in water?

Asparagus fern is easy to grow hydroponically. It has strong adaptability to the environment and can be grown in soil or in water. As long as a suitable growth environment is provided, it can grow well. It is also highly ornamental and placing it indoors can enhance the beauty of the environment.

Method of growing asparagus fern in water

1. Water quality and water changes

Hydroponic asparagus fern requires relatively clean water, which is better for its root system. It is recommended to use purified water because it contains no impurities. If not, it is also okay to use dried tap water. In addition, in order to keep its water clean, it is best to pour out some of the old water in the container every 4-5 days and add new water.

2. Adequate sunlight

Asparagus fern does not like too strong sunlight. When growing it, it should be placed in a place with relatively mild light so that it can synthesize nutrients smoothly and grow. Never place it in a place that is too sunny, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow, seriously affecting its appearance.

3. Add nutrient solution

The nutrients contained in water are much less than those in soil, and are usually not enough to support the growth of the plant. Therefore, when growing asparagus fern in water, you should apply nutrient solution to it 2-3 times a month to provide nutrients. Be careful not to add too much at one time. Generally, just a few drops are enough. You can usually add it when changing the water.

Precautions for growing hydroponic asparagus fern indoors

Hydroponic asparagus fern likes a warm and humid environment. In the initial stage of maintenance, spray water on the leaves twice a day and control the temperature at 15-25℃. When it is growing vigorously, change the water every 3-5 days. When changing the water, you can add some nutrient solution to meet the plant's needs for water and nutrients.
