Baby cabbage planting time and method

Baby cabbage planting time and method

Baby cabbage planting time

Baby cabbage is usually planted in spring, specifically between March and April each year. The temperature at this time is around 20 degrees, which is most suitable for its growth. It can be harvested about one and a half months after planting. If it is maintained in a greenhouse, it can be planted all year round.

Baby cabbage planting method

1. Site selection and land preparation

Baby cabbage has a wide range of adaptability to soil, as long as the soil is loose and has good drainage. Of course, planting it in fertile soil can help the baby cabbage grow more tender. When preparing the land, be careful to avoid large lumps of soil. Apply some fertilizer to improve the fertility of the soil. Chemical fertilizers can be used in combination with farmyard manure.

2. Seed selection and sowing

There are many varieties of baby cabbage. It is best to choose varieties with good cold resistance and stronger adaptability to the environment. There are two ways of sowing. One is to sow at certain intervals on the renovated ground. The other is to cultivate the seedlings first and then transplant them.

Precautions for planting baby cabbage

During the baby cabbage seedling period, watering should be controlled, which will also affect its growth. When the baby cabbage starts to grow, you can apply some compound fertilizer. Do not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Baby cabbage grows fast and can be harvested in about 50-60 days. It must be harvested in time, otherwise the taste will be affected.
