Peanut planting time and method

Peanut planting time

Peanuts can be sown and planted in spring and autumn every year. Families that grow peanuts will choose to sow and plant them in spring, as the temperature at this time is more suitable for the growth of peanuts and the yield of peanuts is higher. Some areas will choose to plant peanuts in autumn. Although the yield of peanuts decreases in autumn, its price is higher.

Peanut Planting Methods

1. Choose the soil

When planting peanuts, you need to choose suitable soil. It likes soil that is rich in nutrients and has good air permeability. Therefore, you can use fertile, loose, and well-drained sandy loam or humus soil to plant peanuts. Before planting, you need to add base fertilizer to the soil to increase the fertilizer content of the soil.

2. Seeding and planting

When sowing and planting peanuts, you first need to shell the peanuts, select the peanuts with full grains and healthy growth as seeds, and then plant them evenly in the prepared soil. When sowing, you need to control the plant spacing at 15 cm and the row spacing at about 20 cm to allow the peanuts to grow better.

3. Post-maintenance

After planting peanuts, you can water them with river or lake water to soak all the soil. This can also provide the peanuts with balanced nutrients to maintain the normal growth of the plants. It can also provide the peanuts with full-day sunshine to enable them to photosynthesize better and store enough nutrients for fruiting.

Precautions for planting peanuts

When choosing peanut seeds, you should choose seeds that are large, plump, and free of pests and diseases. This will make them easier to germinate, and good seeds will produce better peanuts. Before planting, the peanut seeds need to be exposed to the sun for a while, which can have a sterilizing effect. If conditions permit, the seeds can be mixed with pesticides to enhance the resistance of the plants.
