Potato planting time and method

Potato planting time

Potatoes are usually planted at the end of March every year. They need to wait until the soil thaws before planting, and the low temperature must be around 18 degrees. They can be planted in advance. In early March, the soil should be turned over to keep it in a lower temperature environment to avoid growing in high temperatures.

Potato Planting Methods

1. Soil: Before sowing potato seeds, the soil needs to be plowed and the old soil and fixed soil need to be turned out, and then new soil is buried. It is best to do this in sunny weather.

2. Tubers: Before sowing potatoes, you need to choose relatively healthy potato mother plants, then wash them, cut them into small pieces, and then soak them in rooting water for about five hours, and then place them in a cool place for germination.

3. Planting: Bury the processed potato tubers in the soil, place the sprouted end on the soil, do not cover it, and water it appropriately. If it is planted in a large area, reasonable planting spacing is required.

Potato planting precautions

1. When planting potatoes, you need to pay attention to the fact that the soil used must be loose, fertile, and contain a lot of nutrients, which is more beneficial to its growth.

2. When caring for potatoes, they need to be watered in time to keep the soil moist, and they need sufficient sunlight, but strong light should be avoided, otherwise it will affect their growth.
