How to grow white peony

Temperature requirements

White peony is a winter species. It prefers a warm, dry and ventilated environment and has strong adaptability. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 15~25℃. The temperature should not be lower than 5℃ in winter, otherwise it will easily get frostbite.

Watering method

Water the plant only after the soil is completely dry. Generally, once a month is enough. Provide appropriate shade and ventilation in summer, control watering in winter, and spend the winter in a sunny place indoors.

In hot summer, water 4 to 5 times a month, but don't water thoroughly. It is enough to maintain the normal growth of the white peony plant. Too much water in summer will cause it to rot.

In winter, when the temperature drops below 5 degrees, you should gradually stop watering. Keep the soil in the pot dry below 3 degrees, and try to keep it no lower than minus 3 degrees. Too much water in the cold winter will cause the roots to rot. It needs full sun, and must be exposed to sufficient light during the growing period, otherwise it will "grow too tall".

Lighting requirements

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons for white peony, and it can be grown in full sunlight. It is slightly dormant in summer and needs ventilation and sun protection.

Reproduction method

The reproduction of white peony mainly relies on the plant's side buds, leaf cuttings and beheading. After beheading, the new buds that grow from the remaining stems and roots continue the offspring. It is very easy to grow side buds, and the survival rate is relatively high. A large number of seedlings can be obtained by leaf cuttings.

Spring is the season when lateral buds burst out, and reproduction and growth are fastest at this time. White peony can reproduce in all seasons. Small leaves can be thrown on the soil surface or inserted into the soil to grow into independent plants.
