Can peas be grown hydroponically?

Peas can be grown hydroponically or in soil. Hydroponics takes a long time and what grows are pea seedlings, while soil cultivation is mostly for the purpose of producing pods for consumption. It also has a short time period and a simple process, making it a suitable method for growing peas.

Pea hydroponic cultivation method

1. Seed selection: In the early stage of hydroponics, seed selection is very important, which is related to the germination rate of peas. It can be judged with salt water. Place the pea seeds in salt and stir them. The seeds that sink to the bottom are healthy seeds that can be used for hydroponics.

2. Sowing : After selecting the seeds for hydroponic peas, you need to sow them. Place a layer of paper towel on the planting tray, then spray the paper towel with water, spread the seeds evenly on it, and cover it with another layer of paper towel.

Precautions for growing peas in water

1. Temperature: During the hydroponic culture of peas, the temperature needs to be controlled. It is most appropriate to control the temperature at around 15 to 20 degrees. It is difficult for peas to grow and develop if the temperature is above 30 degrees or below 10 degrees.

2. Change the water: During the hydroponic process of peas, after the seedlings emerge, the water needs to be changed once a day. The amount of water should not be too much. At the same time, water needs to be sprayed in the morning and evening. This operation will not easily cause root rot and will make it easier for the seedlings to survive.
