Can the fortune tree be hydroponically cultivated?

The money tree can be grown hydroponically, and it can also be grown in soil. The soil method is relatively simple to operate and easy to maintain. Hydroponically grown money trees are suitable for plants with smaller branches and leaves. If they are too large, they will not be easy to fix and will look unsightly.

Hydroponic cultivation method of fortune tree

1. Select branches: When growing money trees hydroponically, choose branches that are relatively strong. At the same time, cut off the leaves at the bottom of the branches, leaving only 2 to 4 leaves. When pruning, it is most appropriate to have the incision at a 45-degree angle, which can also increase the contact area with water.

2. Preparation for cuttings: When the money tree is hydroponically cultivated, in order to promote its rooting, you need to sprinkle rooting powder on the cut or soak it directly in rooting water. Add one-third of water to the hydroponic container and put in the branches. Be careful not to let the leaves get wet to avoid leaf rot.

Precautions for water-growing fortune trees

1. Change water: During the hydroponic process of the money tree, in the early stage before it takes root, you need to change the water every 3 days or so. After it takes root, you don’t need to change the water frequently, you can add water frequently. After the money tree grows up, you need to replace the container in time, and change the water once half a month.

2. Light: The hydroponic money tree needs sufficient light, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight at noon. It can be placed in a place with scattered light.
