Can cat grass be grown hydroponically?

Cat grass can be grown hydroponically. Generally, it is better to grow cat grass in soil. Place it in a bright place indoors and water it when the soil is dry. You can clearly see the cat grass's need for water. Hydroponics are prone to root rot and are difficult to get started.

Cat grass hydroponic cultivation method

1. Hydroponic cat grass needs to be soaked to germinate first. Choose plump and healthy seeds and soak them in clean water for about eight hours. The soaking time can be extended or shortened according to the local temperature.

2. After soaking, put toilet paper on the prepared seedling tray and wet it with water. Then spread the soaked seeds flat. In about three days, you will see tender green sprouts growing out.

3. After the tender shoots grow out, place the seedling tray in a place with sufficient light. This is conducive to photosynthesis, but try to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. When they grow to about ten centimeters, you can cut them off and feed them to your cat.

Precautions for water-growing cat grass

1. Light: Hydroponic cat grass needs sufficient light to thrive, otherwise the leaves may turn yellow and dry. At the same time, pay attention to reduce direct sunlight in summer to avoid water loss due to dry weather.

2. Water volume: The water volume of cat grass should be moderate, and the depth should not exceed the root, otherwise it will easily mold. If moldy areas are found, it is best to remove the moldy areas and the surrounding areas to avoid affecting the growth of other seedlings.
