How to grow potted roses? Cultivation methods and maintenance matters

How to grow small roses in pots

1. Watering

Small roses need to be provided with sufficient water during the growing period, and timely watering must be the first priority. Usually they should be watered every 2-3 days. You should observe the moisture level of the soil more often. It is best to keep it slightly moist. If there is water accumulation, drain it as soon as possible.

2. Pruning

During the maintenance of small rose potted plants, pruning work needs to be done. The dense branches inside the plant, the withered branches, and the branches with diseases and insect pests can be pruned off. This can reduce the consumption of nutrients and increase the air permeability inside the plant.

3. See the light

Potted roses are suitable for being placed outdoors or on the balcony, providing sufficient light. They are sun-loving plants, so the location where they are maintained must have good light. However, in order to avoid sunburn in midsummer, some diffuse light can be provided.

4. Ventilation

During the cultivation of potted roses, they should be moved indoors regularly so that they can breathe fresh air. This can reduce the occurrence of diseases. However, they cannot be placed outdoors in winter. When the weather is good, you can open the windows more often to ventilate.

Small rose maintenance precautions

1. When growing small roses in the summer, be sure to take shade measures. It is best to move them to a ventilated and cool environment for cultivation. The plant has a weak ability to tolerate low temperatures, so in winter it can be moved to a room with a temperature above 5°C to ensure ventilation and plenty of sunlight.

2. The small rose needs to be repotted once every year. When repotting, some of the old soil can be retained to help the plant adapt to the new growth environment more quickly. At the same time, the soil needs to be loosened and pruned to prevent the occurrence of hardening. Dead branches, diseased branches, drooping branches, and old branches on the plant should be cut off in time.
