Celery seed sowing time

Celery can be sown in spring, summer and autumn. The ambient temperature is relatively low in winter, so it is not recommended to plant it. The survival rate will be much lower than in the other three seasons. Seedlings are generally raised in January-March in spring, and can be planted in the ground in March-April. May-July is the harvest season. In the south of the Yangtze River Basin, it should be sown in March.

The time to sow celery in summer should be June-July, and it can be harvested in August-September. The temperature is high and there is more rain in summer, so large-scale planting is not recommended. If it is planted in autumn, the north can choose to sow in June-July and it can be harvested around November.

Celery seed planting method and steps

1. Germination

It is best to sow celery in mid-to-late June. The seeds must be germinated before sowing. Soak them in clean water for 12 to 24 hours, then wash them clean and dry them in a well-ventilated place. Then wrap them in a wet towel and place them in a warm environment. Spray water in time to keep the environment moist. Wait until the seeds sprout before sowing.

2. Planting

After celery seeds sprout, they can be sown in the soil. Water the soil thoroughly in advance. After sowing, cover the seeds evenly with a thin layer of soil. Pay attention to keeping the soil moist. Generally, water it every 1 to 2 days. When the height of the seedlings is 12 to 15 cm, you can apply manure. Generally, they can be harvested around October.
