Pitaya likes sufficient sunlight and fertile nutrients. It should be watered more during spring and summer planting, and drained in time on rainy days.

With the continuous development of biotechnology, pitaya can also be grown in temperate zones. The growth of pitaya goes through four steps: seedling cultivation, pollination, flowering, and fruit development. Pitaya generally matures in summer, and it takes about 50 days from flowering to harvesting.
