Coral vine cultivation methods and precautions

How to grow coral vine

Pot requirements

Planting in moist, fertile, well-drained, acidic soil rich in humus is the best choice. And you should water it frequently to keep the soil moist. In addition, the choice of pots is also very important. The pots should have a certain depth to promote root growth.

Coral vine prefers a warm and humid environment. The suitable temperature for its growth is 22-30℃, and mature plants are slightly cold-resistant. Seedlings should be strictly protected from frost.

Timely pruning

When growing coral vines in pots at home, you should pay attention to setting up frames and pillars. The frames can be tied into various shapes to facilitate the overall beauty of the coral vines. As a vine plant, it has a strong spreading ability, so pay attention to pruning the branches in time.

More water and more fertilizer

Coral vine likes a humid environment, so it should be watered sufficiently during the growing period. Keep the soil moist and spray water on the leaves in summer. During the dormant period, just keep the soil from drying out.

Coral vine requires more fertilizer during its growth period, and 25% fermented cake fertilizer should be applied every 7-10 days. When flower buds appear, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied.

Coral vine cultivation precautions

Adequate lighting

During the high temperatures of summer, it should be placed under the shade of a tree for maintenance, while also ensuring that it has 3-4 hours of direct sunlight every day. In this way, the coral vine will not grow too tall. Pay special attention to the maintenance of potted plants at home, and try to place the pots on a south or west-facing balcony.

Promote branching

In order to ensure that the coral vine plant has a full shape, it needs to be pinched several times in the early growth stage to promote more branches.
