Is cactus suitable for a large or small pot?

Should I use a large or small pot for a cactus?

There are not too many requirements for the flower pot when growing cacti. It just needs to maintain permeability. Because it is very drought-resistant and requires relatively little water, the flower pot does not need to be too large, otherwise it will cause water accumulation. If placed at home, it is best to have a certain aesthetic appeal.

Cactus pot requirements

Cactus is suitable for maintenance in a ceramic pot with drainage holes, and purple clay is of course better. Generally speaking, cactus does not have high requirements for pots, plastic, ceramic, porcelain, and metal are all fine. The main thing is that the pot should be of the right size and have good air permeability, and no water accumulation. The diameter of the pot should be 4-6 cm larger than the diameter of the sphere to be planted, and not too large, otherwise water will accumulate.

Cactus potted plant maintenance method

1. Plenty of sunlight: Cactus likes an environment with plenty of sunlight, but cannot tolerate strong sunlight exposure. Of course, cactus has vigorous vitality and generally will not be killed by the sun. If you want the cactus to grow faster, it is best to take shade measures when the sunlight is too strong.

2. Do not water too much: Cactus has a strong drought resistance, and its root system can absorb more water. Excessive watering during daily maintenance will cause root rot. It is necessary to control watering, keep the environment ventilated, and speed up the evaporation of water.

3. Use sand or soil: Cactus is suitable for planting in sand, but it is not easy to retain water in sand. In order to ensure the healthy growth of cactus, it is best to put a layer of soil under the sand so that it does not need to be watered every day.

4. Temperature: Cactus likes high temperature environment. The best growth temperature is 20-35 degrees. Most varieties prefer an environment with a large temperature difference between day and night. Under the conditions of less than 35 degrees during the day and around 15 degrees at night, more nutrients can be accumulated, thereby promoting vigorous growth of the plant.
