The right time to plant hydrangeas

Hydrangea is a perennial plant of the Hydrangeaceae family. It mainly propagates through seeds. It usually blooms about three months after sowing. The flowering period is from June to August each year.

Hydrangeas are suitable for sowing in mid-to-late October in autumn and mid-March in spring. Spring is the most suitable time for sowing. At this time, the growth of seedlings will improve as the temperature and humidity rise, and they will quickly grow into mature plants.

Hydrangea sowing method

1. Prepare the soil

Hydrangeas grow best in fertile soil, preferably peat moss mixed with a humus solution. Before planting, use a small shovel or hoe to loosen the soil.

2. Plant and water

Next, plant the hydrangea seeds into the treated soil, then pour in some clean water to keep the soil moisture at a moderately high level to promote rooting and germination of the seeds.

Hydrangea Planting Tips and Techniques

1. Lighting

Hydrangeas cannot withstand strong light when they are seedlings. If the light is too strong at noon, shade should be provided in time to prevent direct sunlight from burning the plants and causing them to wither.

2. Moisture

After planting the hydrangea seeds, when its seedlings break through the soil, it is necessary to control the moisture in the soil in time, because it has grown tender roots, and too much moisture in the soil will make it difficult for it to breathe.
