How to trim pansy to look good

When is the right time to prune pansies?

It is advisable to prune the pansy after one to two years of cultivation. Generally, you should wait until the flowers gradually wither and then cut off the withered flowers. The branches that have bloomed should also be cut off to reduce the consumption of nutrients.

Pansy pruning tips

When the pansy blooms, you can prune some of the weaker branches and some unused side branches to give the flower a beautiful shape. This will help save nutrients and make the flower look better next year.

How to make pansies bloom

1. Prepare a suitable matrix

If you want to grow the viola to overflow the pot, you should use loose and well-breathable soil for cultivation. When caring for it, it is recommended to mix three parts of peat soil with one part of perlite, and add a small amount of vermiculite as a substrate.

2. Keep a cool environment

Pansy grows faster in a relatively cold environment. When caring for it, if the temperature of the breeding environment can be controlled between 10-15℃, it will be very beneficial to its growth and can make it bloom faster.

3. Provide sufficient sunlight

Pansy loves sunlight. It can synthesize nutrients faster in a sunny environment and thus grow faster. Therefore, if you want to grow it well, giving it sufficient sunlight is also an important condition.

4. Replenish nutrients in time

The premise for it to grow out of the pot is to get enough nutrients for growth. Therefore, if you want to grow it out of the pot, you must not forget to fertilize it. When it is in the growing season, applying liquid fertilizer once every half a month or so to provide nutrients is also very beneficial for it to grow out of the pot.
