How to care for the newly bought windmill jasmine

How to care for the newly bought windmill jasmine

1. Soil

If the plant you bought comes with a pot and soil, check the quality of the soil first. If the soil is not lumpy and is relatively loose, you can continue to use it. Because it has only one requirement for the soil, it cannot be alkaline soil. You can use garden soil or general planting nutrient soil, slightly acidic soil is better.

2. Temperature

You need to provide it with a relatively warm temperature at home to help it adapt to the new living environment. Although it is cold-resistant, its resistance is not very strong, so you must pay attention to keeping it warm in winter.

3. Watering

After you just buy it and change the environment, its water absorption ability is still relatively weak, so don't water it too much. It is a moisture-loving plant, but you must be careful not to let water accumulate in the flowerpot. Pay attention to the moisture level of the soil and drain it in time. It is best to adjust the amount of watering according to the season, watering once a day, and you can reduce it appropriately in winter.

4. Lighting

When you first bring it home, it is best to place it in a relatively cool place. When it starts to grow, you can place it in a sunny place to ensure sufficient light. Although it can grow in dark places, it grows slowly and has poor germination ability.

5. Fertilization

When you first bring it home, the roots absorb fertilizer too slowly, so don't fertilize it to avoid burning the roots. You can apply more phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and use compound fertilizer once or twice in spring and autumn.

6. Modeling and pruning

After it adapts, you can use a climbing frame to shape it and let it grow along the frame into the shape you like.
