How to care for succulent plants in winter

Are succulents afraid of freezing?

Succulent plants are not very cold-resistant, so they are afraid of freezing in winter. After entering winter, they will not freeze to death as long as the temperature is above 5℃. Succulents can grow better when the temperature is above 10℃ in winter.

If the minimum temperature in winter is above 10 degrees, succulent plants will grow normally. Some varieties that can be grown outdoors are cold-resistant and have no problem growing at temperatures below minus 15 degrees. In the cold southern regions, sedum can also be grown outdoors at temperatures between minus 5 and 0 degrees for a short period of time.

How to care for succulent plants in winter

Watering: When growing succulent plants in winter, adhere to the principle of keeping the soil dry rather than wet. Water the plants after the soil in the pot is dry. The frequency of watering is generally once every half a month or so, and the watering time can be adjusted appropriately according to the specific weather.

Fertilization: The growth of succulent plants becomes very slow in winter, so you need to stop fertilizing them at this time to avoid fertilizer damage to the plants.

Sunbathing : In winter, succulent plants can bask in the sun. They need to be placed in a place with more scattered light, and try to shine the light on the succulent to help it carry out photosynthesis and improve its ability to survive the winter.

Precautions for winter breeding of meat

Succulent plants are not suitable for sowing, leaf cuttings, and propagation in winter, but they can be grown in rooms with heating in the north, but not in areas without heating. The temperature at night in winter is too low, the mortality rate is very high, and the rooting speed is slow.

In northern regions, there is indoor heating, so succulents can grow normally. At this time, the most appropriate way to water is by spraying, and at the same time cleaning the dust on the surface of the leaves is conducive to the healthy growth of the plants.
