Introduction to Planting Rosa Rosa

Seabuckthorn prefers a warm environment, with a suitable growth temperature between 23-30 degrees. It is relatively cold-resistant and grows on sunny slopes, valleys, roadsides and bushes at an altitude of 500-2500 meters. It is usually planted in spring and autumn. It has a lifespan of more than 10 years and is distributed in southwest China, Shaanxi and Gansu.

The results of the thorn pear planting for several years

The sea buckthorn can bear fruit in the second year after being planted in the first year. The harvest period of the sea buckthorn is less than 30 days. The pink, red or dark red flowers bloom from April to June, and the fruits ripen in autumn.

The main methods of propagation of sea buckthorn include vegetative propagation and seed propagation. Vegetative propagation uses methods such as division, cutting and layering to raise seedlings. Seed propagation is generally carried out in autumn and spring. In order to increase the germination rate, soak it in warm water at 50℃-60℃ for 12-24 hours the day before sowing, then take it out and wash it before sowing.

Why doesn't the prickly pear bear fruit?

1. Excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer: First, in recent years, the prices of urea and diammonium phosphate have been declining, and some pear farmers have purchased large quantities and applied them, resulting in the excessive growth of branches and leaves, weak tree vigor, and only growing branches but no fruit.

2. Poor drainage: Some fruit farmers only focus on planting pear trees and are willing to apply fertilizer, so the pear trees grow well. However, due to the lack of attention to the drainage of the pear orchard, too much water accumulates during the flowering period, which restricts their growth and results in few fruits.

3. Lack of pollination trees: Seabuckthorn is a cross-pollinated plant and it is difficult for it to bear fruit on its own. It requires artificial pollination. Pollination trees can also be planted during planting. The most appropriate ratio of original trees to pollination trees is 3:1.

Key points for planting roxburghii

Seabuckthorn needs to be tilled and weeded 2 to 3 times from April to June to increase soil permeability and reduce nutrient loss. Apply quick-acting fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen once before and after flowering. In winter, weeds around the crown should be removed during garden cleaning, and trenches should be dug to bury fertilizer. Appropriate pruning of branches and leaves should be done to allow it to overwinter smoothly. Excessive pruning is not conducive to early fruiting.
