What is horseshoe?

Water chestnut is a smooth and hairless vegetable belonging to the genus Eriobotrya of the Cyperaceae family. In life, water chestnut is often called water chestnut, peony, black taro, money onion, etc. It is a winter vegetable and is usually available in mid-to-late November. Common producing areas include Liushi, Zhejiang, Taizhou, Jiangsu, Wuhu, Anhui, etc. Most of these areas are warm, humid and rainy.

1. Stir-fry

Stir-fried water chestnuts can be served with fruits. Put a little oil in the pan, pour in a certain amount of chopped pineapple after the pan is hot, add some hot water, then add the water chestnuts and cook over high heat until the sauce is reduced, then add a little sugar and salt to season.

2. Steaming

Clean the water chestnuts and brush off the mud in the cracks. Then put the water chestnuts into the steamer, add some honey and sugar, steam them for a while, and they are ready to serve.
