What is Chinese cabbage?

Chinese cabbage is a leafy green vegetable containing a large amount of minerals. It belongs to the genus Brassica in the family Cruciferae. Chinese cabbage is also called rubber cabbage, oil cabbage, green cabbage, etc. It is a vegetable that grows all year round. The best time to put it on the market is from January to March. It is grown in most parts of my country, and is most common in the northern production areas such as Northeast China and Hebei.

What does Chinese cabbage look like?

The appearance of pakchoy is similar to that of Chinese cabbage, but the plant is much smaller, generally about 20 cm in length. The leaves of the plant are wrinkled green and the stems are smooth, hairless white.

How to make Chinese cabbage

1. Stir-fry

Stir-fried bok choy is a very light dish. First, pour some oil into the pan. When the pan is hot, add the minced garlic and stir-fry. When it turns golden brown, pour in the bok choy and stir-fry. Then drizzle with oil when serving.

2. Make soup

Bok choy can be cooked with tofu in soup. Put the onion and garlic into the pot and sauté them. Then add water and wait until the water is warm. Then add the tofu cubes and bok choy. After the soup boils for a few minutes, it is ready.
