How to plant Yushu? Planting time and method

Yushu planting time

It is recommended to choose the cutting method for jade plant cultivation. Cutting is best done in spring and autumn, especially from August to October in autumn. Leaves and buds can be used for insertion, but the wound must be dried before insertion to increase its survival rate.

Yushu Planting Method

Jade plant cuttings can be made from leaves and branches. If using leaves, cut one without wounds. If using branches, cut it from a strong branch about 8 to 10 cm long.

Before grafting jade plants, whether they are leaves or branches, the wounds should be dried first and placed in a cool place to dry, otherwise they will be infected with bacteria and affect their survival.

When jade plant is planted by cuttings, the leaves or branches should be inserted obliquely, about a quarter of the length, not too deep. Make sure to moisten the soil before insertion. Place in a cool place after insertion, and it will take root in about 20 days.

How to plant the jade tree I just bought

First, remove all the soil from the jade plant you just bought, expose the roots above the soil, trim the capillary roots, cut them appropriately short, and place the entire plant in a well-ventilated place to dry.

After the jade plant has dried, plant it directly, water it after planting, add rooting liquid to the water, and place it in a place with diffuse light and good ventilation after watering. Next time the soil is dry, water it directly 2 or 3 centimeters to ensure that it takes root quickly. It will generally grow out in 2 weeks at most.

How to grow jade plant quickly

If you want the jade tree to grow fast, you need to do the following five things:

1. Soil: Jade plant is not very demanding on soil. It is best to choose fertile and loose sandy soil, which is conducive to root absorption and allows the plant to grow healthily and quickly.

2. Water: The soil in the pot should not be too wet, and there should be no water accumulation. Generally, water it once every 2 to 3 days. When the temperature is high in summer, you need to increase the amount of watering appropriately. When the temperature is low in winter, you should reduce the amount of watering appropriately. Check the soil in the pot before watering. It is suitable for watering when the soil is slightly dry.

3. Fertilization: In order to make the jade plant grow better, do not apply too much fertilizer to avoid excessive growth. Apply appropriate topdressing during the growth period. Apply rotten cake fertilizer about 2 to 3 times a month, and apply enough base fertilizer before changing the soil or planting.

4. Temperature: The suitable growth temperature for jade plant is between 20-30℃. Spring and autumn are the most suitable for growth. The temperature in summer should not exceed 38℃, otherwise it will grow slowly and enter a dormant period. The maintenance temperature in winter should not be lower than 5℃, otherwise the plant will be frozen.

5. Light: Take shade measures in the hot summer and do not expose the jade plant directly to strong sunlight. In other seasons, it can receive sunlight all day long. If it is grown indoors, it should be moved to a sunny place frequently.

Precautions for Jade Tree Potted Plant Cultivation

Jade plant likes a warm environment and grows well under diffuse light conditions indoors. When caring for it, avoid direct sunlight. It is easy to be sunburned in the hot summer, and the leaves are prone to shrink and turn yellow.

Watering needs to be controlled during the growth period of Jade Plant to prevent the potting soil from being too wet and rotting. It is best to water after the soil is dry. The frequency of watering should be reduced in rainy weather to avoid poor plant growth.
