Lavender cultivation methods and precautions

Lavender cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

Lavender is suitable for growing in neutral or alkaline soil, and the soil used for cultivation must have good drainage properties. Perlite, peat soil and vermiculite can be prepared and used.

2. Lighting

It prefers sunlight, and the breeding environment must be able to receive sufficient light. When the sunlight is not very strong, it can be exposed to sunlight all day long. Generally speaking, it can still grow if there is not enough light, but the number of flowers will be reduced. The sun is very strong in the summer, so block at least half of the sunlight.

3. Water

The plant is not suitable for growing in a relatively humid environment, so watering is not needed too frequently. Generally, after watering, you need to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. Of course, it can't be too dry. If there is a lack of water, the growth of the plant will be affected.

4. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in cooler places. The most suitable temperature for lavender growth is in the range of 15-25 degrees. Its growth state will be better in such a temperature environment. The maximum temperature should be limited to around 35 degrees, and the minimum temperature should be limited to above 0 degrees.

5. Notes

What needs to be paid attention to during the breeding process is the prevention and control of diseases and pests. Although it is rarely attacked by diseases and pests, it still needs attention to prevention and control. When problems are found in the growth of plants, it is necessary to check what kind of disease the plant has suffered and then purchase special pesticides for prevention and control.
