Snow lotus seed sowing method

Snow lotus seed sowing time

Snow lotus seeds are usually sown before mid-April in spring. If the temperature is low, a small arch shed should be built or the ground film should be covered to better cultivate seedlings.

It takes a long time for snow lotus to germinate from seeds to sprout and bloom, usually 6 to 8 years, and it blooms in the last year from July to August.

Snow lotus seeds are sown in summer

The suitable growth temperature of snow lotus is between 5-25 degrees. If the temperature in summer is above 25 degrees, it will enter a semi-dormant state. If you sow it at this time, you need to place it in a cool place.

Snow lotus seed sowing method

1. Snow lotus is suitable for sowing in spring and autumn every year. Place the seeds flat in the dug holes and cover them with a layer of soil. They will sprout in about 8 days.

2. Before planting snow lotus, the seeds should be disinfected and crop rotation should be implemented. It should be planted in a disease-free and clean field. If there are cutworms, all weeds, dead branches, leaves and other debris in the field should be removed. Apply medicine on the seedlings or at the roots of the seedlings, which has a good preventive and control effect on many types of cutworms.

3. After sowing the snow lotus seeds, control the temperature at around 25°C. The minimum should not be lower than 15 degrees and the maximum should not exceed 35 degrees. Generally, they will germinate in about 10 days.

4. After the snow lotus seeds germinate, there is a 9-11 day seedling growth period. After the snow lotus seeds are planted, check whether there are dead or missing seedlings. If there are, replant them in time to ensure that all seedlings are in the field. Water them once after planting, then loosen the soil once every 15 days, pull out the weeds in the field, keep the soil moist, and the soil temperature must not be lower than 15 degrees.
