Shu refers to most legume crops , but among the five grains it does not refer to all legumes, but only to soybeans.

It was called Shu in the Zhou Dynasty, and was not called soybean until the Qin and Han Dynasties. It generally has the effect of strengthening the spleen.

But different beans have different effects. For example, mung beans have the effect of detoxification, red beans have the effect of nourishing the heart and eliminating dampness, while peanuts can replenish qi and blood, etc.

What is the plant?

Bean curd is an annual herb of soybean bean. It likes to grow in a humid environment and its growth temperature is around 20-25℃.

Its growing environment requires sufficient water and nutrients, and during the flowering period the soil moisture content is required to be between 70% and 80%.

Beans are native to China and are currently widely grown in various regions of our country, with the Northeast being the most famous. Of course, they are also cultivated all over the world.

The appearance and characteristics of Shu

Since beans are legumes, and there are many types of beans, different types of beans look different.

Its stem is thick and upright with long, stiff brown hairs. It usually has three leaves with some veins and yellow hairs.

The flowers of the bean curd are closely arranged together, and the color is purple or lavender.
