Can honeysuckle be planted in pots?

Honeysuckle can be planted in pots. Honeysuckle is suitable for growing in an environment of 25-30 degrees. If its growth conditions can be met, you can consider planting it in the ground. If not, you can consider potting it. It is best to sow it in spring in April.

Honeydew melon has strong growth ability and has many varieties. It is best to choose a wide-mouthed and deep pot. It doesn’t need to be too big at the beginning. After planting, it will bloom and bear fruit after a growth period of 120-160 days.

Potted cultivation method of honeysuckle

1. Soil preparation

Before planting honeydew melon, you should prepare the soil and apply fertilizer in advance. Plant it in loose, fertile, breathable and well-drained soil, and apply organic fertilizer to the soil to supplement nutrients.

2. Pruning

When the honeysuckle grows to a certain height, it is necessary to pinch the top part in time, which can reduce nutrient consumption, promote better growth of side branches, and produce more flowers and fruits in the later stage, thereby increasing yield.

3. Watering

During the peak period of melon harvest, apply 5 kg of potassium nitrate compound fertilizer per mu, water once every 5 to 7 days, with 8 to 9 m3 of water per mu each time, and stop watering and topdressing 7 to 10 days before harvest.

4. Fertilization

Use 0.5 catties of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer during the clumping stage, apply about 0.2 kg of sulfuric acid type high-nitrogen and high-potassium compound fertilizer during the expansion stage, and spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate and amino acid foliar fertilizer on the leaves during the flowering stage.

5. Pest control

70% imidacloprid wettable powder can be used for spraying, with a dosage of 1 to 2 grams per mu. 10% isoprocarb smoke can also be used for fumigation, with a dosage of about 350 grams per mu.
