Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of poppy

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of poppy

1. Too dense planting

Reason: Too many trees in one pot will cause them to grow too densely. More nutrients are needed, and the light needs to be uniform enough so that each plant can grow better. However, if the amount of fertilizer applied is insufficient and the light is uneven, some branches and leaves will turn yellow.

Measures: The poppy needs to be transplanted into a large flowerpot together with the soil, and then the amount of fertilizer should be increased appropriately, and the yellow leaf problem will improve.

2. Lack of water

Reason: Water is an indispensable element for the growth of poppy. However, people may not be able to judge when to water it and how much water to water at a time, which leads to the inability to accurately control the frequency and amount of watering. This results in a lack of water, causing the branches and leaves of the poppy to turn wilted and yellow.

Measures: Water needs to be replenished in time, and the frequency and amount of watering should be slowly increased. During subsequent maintenance, you can observe the surface of the soil in the pot, or you can feel whether the soil is dry by sticking your finger into the soil a little. If it is dry, you can water it. When watering, make sure to water it thoroughly to keep the soil moist.

3. Excessive fertilization

Reason: During the fertilization process, if the fertilization frequency is too high, the fertilizer concentration is too high, or the amount of fertilizer is too large, the nutrients in the potting soil will be too rich, burning the roots and causing the external branches and leaves of the plant to turn yellow.

Measures: Slowly pour water into the pot to dilute the fertilizer in the potting soil and let it drain out from the drainage holes at the bottom. Or you can change the soil and replant it, but you need to be extra careful when transplanting poppies.
