How long is the growth cycle of Agaricus bisporus?

How long is the growth cycle of Agaricus bisporus?

Introduction to Agaricus bisporus growth

The moisture content of Agaricus bisporus culture medium should be 60%, the moisture content of covering soil should be between 16-20%, the air humidity should be controlled between 60-70%, and the relative humidity of the air during the fruiting body growth period should be controlled between 85-95%.

The artificial cultivation of Agaricus bisporus has a long history and its distribution area is wide. The United States has the largest mushroom production in the world, and my country is second. In addition, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and other countries have large-scale production.

Agaricus bisporus growth cycle

The best growing environment for Agaricus bisporus is alkaline, which is conducive to its growth. If the environment is acidic, it will be detrimental to the growth of mycelium and fruiting bodies, and it will also easily produce miscellaneous bacteria.

The growth cycle of Agaricus bisporus is mostly 9 months. It takes about 80 days from raw material fermentation to mushroom production. The mushroom production time is mostly half a year. If it is cultivated in a solar greenhouse, year-round production can be achieved.

Growth rate of Agaricus bisporus

If the temperature of Agaricus bisporus mycelium is controlled between 13-18℃, the fruiting period of Agaricus bisporus can be maintained at about 6 months, which can effectively increase the yield and economic benefits of Agaricus bisporus.

It takes about 40 days from sowing, covering the soil to harvesting Agaricus bisporus in spring. Autumn mushrooms also have a large demand for water and air, but they are rich in nutrients, have suitable temperatures, grow mycelium fast, have a high density of mushrooms, and have concentrated yields.

Agaricus bisporus growth cycle management

The cultivation of Agaricus bisporus in my country is spread all over the country. Its annual output exceeds 1 million tons and its annual export volume remains at around 500,000 tons. China is now the second largest producer in the world.

Temperature management : The optimum temperature for the growth of Agaricus bisporus mycelium is between 23℃ and 25℃. If the temperature is below 5℃, its growth is very slow. When the temperature is above 25℃, the mycelium grows fast but is thin and weak. When the temperature exceeds 32℃, the mycelium turns yellow and falls over, and eventually stops growing.

Fertilization management : spray yeast solution, prepared with dry yeast, with a concentration of 0.03%-0.05%. Since yeast is rich in protein and vitamin B, regular application can promote the formation of fruiting bodies, increase the number of small mushrooms, and accelerate their growth rate, making the mushroom body strong and increasing yield.
